What are the ProPicks AI dividend strategies?
They’re strategies built for investors who want dividend stocks that are best-placed to grow and keep paying over the long term.
All of them run on the same model. It checks every dividend-paying stock in its market on 45 metrics. Yield is just one of those metrics. The others cover cash flow, debt, valuation, business quality, growth and track record. Each strategy is rebuilt every quarter, and every stock comes with the reasons it was picked.
Why not just buy the highest-yielding stocks?
Dividend yield is the annual dividend per share divided by the share price. A yield rises when the dividend grows. It also rises when the share price falls. A screener sorted by yield doesn’t show which of the two caused it.
A Charles Schwab study of dividend payers among the 1,000 largest US companies looked at 2004 to 2025. Among the 10% with the highest yields, 24% cut their dividend. Among the 10% with the lowest yields, only 4.5% did.
How does the model pick stocks?
The model produces three readings for every company:
- Expected total return: share price growth and dividends counted together.
- Risk: how closely the company’s numbers match those of companies that fell sharply in the past.
- Dividend yield: weighted so a high yield helps a stock but can’t carry it onto the list by itself.
The three readings combine into one score. There’s no pass-or-fail gate. Every stock in the market is ranked on its score, and the top-ranked stocks make up the list.
What does the model check?
Behind the three readings are 45 metrics, grouped into ten areas:
- The dividend itself: How big is the yield, and is it paid from cash the business actually generates?
- Price: How does the share price compare with the company’s profits, book value, cash flow and sales?
- Quality of the business: How profitable is it, and how wide are its margins?
- Debt: How much does it owe, and how easily can it cover the interest?
- Share price volatility: How much does the price swing from month to month?
- Price direction: Have the shares been rising or falling, and how close are they to their 52-week high?
- Size: How large is the company by market value?
- Growth: Are sales, profits and margins growing?
- Track record: How long has the company paid a dividend, did the dividend grow, and how steady have its cash flow and profits been?
- Combinations: Two metrics judged together, such as yield and cash cover, or yield and price direction.
Yield carries extra weight, but it’s still one input out of 45.
How often are the strategies updated?
Every dividend strategy is rebuilt on the first day of each quarter at 12PM UTC, using the latest financial data. A company whose numbers weaken moves down the ranking and can drop off the list at the next rebuild.
Do I need a paid plan to use it?
Dividend strategies are available as part of our Pro Plus tier, and they are also included in Pro Max.
